Which can be the emotional cause for constipation?
Did you know that constipation can really have an emotional cause? I am of the belief that most physical problems are the result of emotional problems and believe it or not, this is a good example. Most times we have no idea what the emotional cause is a physical problem. The book by Louise L. Hay, called "You Can Heal Your Life" has a chart of different physical problems, their probable cause and a new thought pattern that could be useful in clarifying the issue.
Constipation can be the result of the refusal to release the old ideas, being stuck in the past. We must learn to accept ourselves fully, to leave the past behind, to conquer fear, open to new, fresh and vital to let life flow through us.
It is also true that as the emotional affects our body, the physical distress damages our emotional equilibrium. Thus although it is recommended an in-depth work on emotions, don’t stop helping your body with exercise, getting enough water, especially vegetable fiber.
Another common cause for constipation is stress. The relationship between emotions and the digestive system are bidirectional. Stress can affect bowel function and vice versa. More specifically, there has been a direct relationship between constipation and a lack of the neurotransmitter serotonin, which is common in situations of emotional stress, especially in depression and sadness behaviors.
